It's time to cut the ties

I can't say we tried,

When fireflies begin to play
While they ignite, shinning bright
Things aren't so crazy
It's like something up there
Just wants to say hi
By sending a little firefly
Or maybe the stars, soaring to earth
The dew on the grass
As the fireflies pass
It chills me to the bone
It's cold this night, for summer time
But my care is never shown
It's nice outside
Where I can reach the stars
But when the cold does creep
And my care is finally shown
That's when you come home
And now it seems that the fireflies
Are far away
Because now I'm with the stars
